THE ENTREPRENEURS’ PROGRAMME
What is it?
This programme is a Federal Government initiative aimed at helping Australian businesses innovate and grow. It offers flexible and tailored support through four elements.
- Accelerating Commercialisation – provides advice to overcome the challenges of commercialising new products, processes and services. This grant will fund up to 50% of an eligible project cost up to $1 million.
- Business Management – covers Business Evaluation, Growth Service Support, Supply Chain Facilitation and Tourism Partnerships. In particular, this arm includes a Business Growth Grant of up to $20,000 (with a matched 50% co-contribution) to embed additional capability in your business. To be eligible for this grant, you must have received a completed Business Evaluation Action Plan and be operating in one of the following growth areas
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Food and Agribusiness
- Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals
- Mining Equipment, Technology and Services
- Oil, Gas and Energy Resources
This grant specifically supports strategies that improve the abilities and skills of your business. Once these business specific strategies are identified in a Business Evaluation Action Plan, action items are put into place that could include:
- Development of a Strategic Plan
- Development of a Marketing Plan
- Financial Management Review (such as financial management reporting, financial analysis etc)
- Operational Review
- Systems Analysis
- Development of an integrated Performance Appraisal Development Programme
Applications for the Business Growth Grant via the Entrepreneurs’ Programme are currently open.
- Incubator Support – provides assistance to new and existing incubators to improve the prospects of Australian start-ups achieving commercial success in international markets.
- Innovation Connections – is a facilitated service to help businesses identify their research needs and opportunities, connect with sources of expertise, technology and advice. Matched funding grants of up to $50,000 are also available to access research capability in the form of researcher placements.
